Other Highlights: Dr. Trenkle is board certified in clinical lipidology and was mentored by Dr. William Castelli of the Framingham Heart Study. He has also initiated research on cardiovascular risk and treatment of heart attacks, which is currently under review for publication.
Dr. Trenkle has coordinated research with Dr. William Rod Shankle, director of the Hoag Institute for Alzheimer’s Disease and the Orange County Vital Aging Project (OCVAP). This is an ongoing relationship of the Maine Coast Specialty Clinic with the clinic at Hoag Institute. This experience enables Maine Coast Memorial Hospital to have a advanced memory clinic for the detection and treatment of memory loss and dementing illness. Dr. Trenkle has published clinical research, defined risk factors and treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
Dr. Trenkle volunteers his services as the medical director of the YMCA's Phase III Cardiac Rehab Program.
