Annual Meeting
“Maine
Coast Hospital is dedicated to constantly
improving the quality of care and services,”
she said. The hospital finished another year
in the black despite being owed $11 million
by the state for Medicaid reimbursements.

2 Hole in Ones Highlight Schoodic Scramble

at the Schoodic Scramble which is sponsored
each year by Edith Dixon and Alan Goldstein

Anthem BCBS
and MCMH Reach Agreement on New Contract
Anthem Blue Cross
and Blue Shield and Maine Coast Memorial
Hospital have reached an agreement on
contract terms that will keep the hospital
in Anthem’s network of health care providers
through 2008 and 2009. The agreement was
reached after a three-hour meeting in Bangor
on Monday, a day before the current contract
would have expired on October 1.

Cardiac Rehab Reunion Celebrates Life
About 60
people gathered for the
Cardiac Rehab
Reunion to celebrate life after
recovering from a heart event. Bernadette
Dempsey, the cardiac rehab nurse coordinator
for Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac
Rehab Program, said the reunion is an
occasion for “a very special group of people
to have a good time together.”

Maine Coast Healthcare Foundation Announces
Grants To Community Hospital
Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s doctors and
other healthcare providers, working to
further advance the quality of patient care,
are receiving support from Maine Coast
Healthcare Foundation.
At their May, 2008, meeting the Foundation’s
Trustees approved 13 grants totaling
$70,000.
