The Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) is a simple contract between the donor and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Foundation. It provides the opportunity to make a charitable gift and secure a stream of income for life. Under this arrangement, donors transfer assets (usually cash or appreciated securities) to the foundation in exchange for a commitment by the foundation to pay them (and a second annuitant, if the donor so chooses) a fixed and guaranteed payment for the remainder of their life. The foundation utilizes uniform gift annuity rates as set by the American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA).
