The Role of the Family Nurse Practitioner, Free Community Health Forum

Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will be hosting a Free Health Education event “The Role of the Family Nurse Practitioner” to increase awareness of Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and their place in primary care. Presented Linda Napier, MSN, APRN, NP-C, this event will be held on Monday, July 18th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the MCMH Classroom.  (Door C)
Family Nurse Practitioners, like family practice physicians, diagnose illnesses, develop and manage treatment plans with patients, and prescribe medications. Family Nurse Practitioners have played a role in patient care since the 1960s, and as healthcare has changed so has their role on the patient care team. An increasing number of patients are choosing FNPs as their primary care providers, this event will allow patients to ask questions about Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s FNPs’ scope of service and expertise.
