Southwest Harbor Medical Center Clinic Committee

The Southwest Harbor Medical Center Clinic Committee partners with the clinic in meeting the healthcare needs of the "quiet side" of the Island. It assists the staff in providing available health services, educational programs, clinics, and screenings. The Committee organizes and sponsors projects to generate revenue for the continuation of the Medical Center, and advises the governing Board of the Maine Coast Regional Health Facilities on all matters pertaining to the services rendered at the Medical Center.

Committee members include a Clinic physician, nurse, therapists, and several members of the community at large.

Southwest Harbor Medical Center Clinic Scholarships

Each year the Southwest Harbor Medical Center Clinic Committee awards a $1,000 scholarship to a post graduate student, as well as two scholarships to graduating seniors from Mount Desert Island High School pursuing further education in a healthcare related field at an accredited school. Funds are distributed to the school after receiving confirmation that the student has successfully completed their first semester and will remain enrolled for the second semester.
