It’s Time
to“Move More”
Jazzercise is a dance aerobics program that
has been around for 35 years and has stood
the test of time. It combines kickboxing,
yoga and Pilates principles into fun dance
routines set to the freshest music of
various genres, music you hear on the radio
by the original artists. This includes pop,
hip-hop, rap, jazz, old standards,
classical, Latin and African music.

Laurie Jones is the Wellness Specialist at
MDI Hospital, a certified group fitness
instructor and certified personal trainer.
She explains what her program, “Move More,”
will entail:
“What
I will be discussing in my presentation is
the importance of exercise/movement for a
healthy lifestyle and yes, we will be doing
some dance exercise.
“My
intention is to motivate. We will talk a
little about exercise and then we will do a
micro version of a group dance exercise
class.
“I
try to combine different types of music and
dance style to appeal to the different
tastes of participants and show them how
much fun, and easy, it is to get a little
more movement each day.
“My
goal is to get the Lose and Win group
sweating a little bit and, hopefully, have a
heck of good time in the process.” |
