After 10 weeks of hard work, it is our pleasure to introduce
the Slim Downs—The Grand Prize Winners! This team has participated in Lose and Win since the program
started 3 years ago.

Week Ten—
Lose and Win teams celebrated the completion of the 10 week program in Hancock County to lose weight and become healthier. They have accumulated an impressive grand total of 2645.9 pounds (average of 7.036 pounds per person)

Week Nine—
Healthy Hancock's Lose and Win teams gathered at The Grand in Ellsworth this week and received excellent motivation from Lynn Bolduc, EMMC Dietitian and Pete Loiselle who lost 500 pounds.

Week Eight—
Lose and Win participants had a great time playing Beach Ball Volley Ball at the Downeast Family YMCA.
Lose and Win teams have completed week 7 of the 10 week program in Hancock County to lose weight and become healthier.

Week Seven—
Approximately 40 Lose and Win team members braved the cold to hear Cheryl Wixson give hints on preparing healthy Maine foods.

Week Six—
45 Lose and Win teams have reached the half way point in the 10 week program in Hancock County to lose weight and become healthier. They have accumulated a loss of 2,144 pounds, over a ton!!

Week Five—
Becky, Claudia, Joan, Joyce and Jude shared their success stories about losing weight and maintaining that loss during the week #5 meeting.

Week Four— Laurie Jones led over 110 members of Lose and Win in "Moving More" at the Ellsworth Middle School.

Week Three — Over 105 Lose and Win participants got physically active and had a great deal of fun during the Jazzercise Demonstration.

Week Two — Over 160 Lose and Win participants attended the Health Fair in Ellsworth and received screenings and health information. In Deer Isle/Stonington 40 people took an active part in Line Dancing. 45 teams with 393 participants are on their way to reduce their total weight of 74,732 pounds. Annette’s team, the “Slim Downs” from Otis became the winner of the “Victory Stick” with their impressive first week’s losses. The “Booty Losers” took second place and the “Livin Life Large Girls” came in third.

Kick Off — Lose and Win 2007 started out with a BANG!! There were 221 in attendance at Ellsworth High School for Kick Off, our record! We have 45 teams registered (8 are in Deer Isle/ Stonington) with approximately 350 participants.

All meetings begin at 5:45 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on Thursdays (Ellsworth) and Wednesdays (Deer Isle/Stonington).

Lose and Win participants lost a total of 2,630 pounds during the 10 week team challenge in 2006.
Lose and Win is sponsored by Healthy Hancock, a coalition of organizations working together to improve the health of residents in Hancock County.
