R. H. Foster Energy and Machias Savings Bank presented the 16th Annual Poinsettia Ball in support of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 1 at the Holiday Inn. Once again, it was a sold out event raising $50,000 on behalf of Maine Coast Otolaryngology.

MCMH Announces $10 Million Expansion
ELLSWORTH — Maine Coast Memorial Hospital announced plans for a $10-million expansion at the hospital’s annual meeting Tuesday. “This has been a great year and a year to savor,” said Doug Jones, president and chief executive officer of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.

Cardiac Rehab Reunion Celebrates Life  
About 60 people gathered for the Cardiac Rehab Reunion to celebrate life after recovering from a heart event. Each year participants bring along their favorite heart-healthy dish and share their recipes to form next year’s heart-healthy recipe handout. The hospital supplied the main entrée, chicken mango, which is to be included in the recipes.

Mardi Gras Theme Including Trolley Rides, All Adds Up to a Festive Union Trust Chefs Gala
With a new location, the Union Trust Chefs’ Gala is relishing that this year’s April 28 Mardi Gras extravaganza will go down as one of the greatest social events to ever hit Downeast Maine. The decision to move from the Holiday Inn to the Hancock County Airport in Trenton was all about accommodating the folks who want to attend. Chip Butterwick, chair of the Chefs said “With all the space at the airport, the possibilities are unlimited.”

15th Annual Poinsettia Ball Raises $40,000 for MCMH
They Could Have Danced All Night at the Holiday Inn as the Poinsettia Ball continued into the night. The ball raised $40,000 for the hospital’s CT scanner and Pediatric Weight Loss Clinic.

It’s on the House
Maine Coast Memorial Hospital invited the community for breakfast Sunday morning to celebrate 50 years of service and the beginning of year No. 51. More than 200 area residents, doctors, nurses, board members and community supporters turned out for fluffy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, muffins, bagels and juice.
