  • Our Hours:  Week days 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and many Saturday mornings.  Special appointments for teens and young adults available on some evenings. For sick care, same day appointments are almost always available.
    **Please call for a timely appointment**

  • Payments:  Payment is expected at time of service.  However payment plans can be arranged.  We accept most insurance programs and Medicaid. MasterCard, Visa and Discover also accepted.
  • Emergencies:  We are available 24 hours a day to address all emergencies. Please call our office phone (664-5680 {old number: 667-8207}) for instructions.
  • Privacy and Confidentiality:  Your Medical records are strictly private. No information of any kind about your relationship with this office will be released without your written approval.

Maine Coast Adolescent and Young Adult Clinic (ages 10 - 25yrs)

  • Special service developed for this age group at the Maine Coast Pediatrics location.
  • Reserved hours only for teens and young adults after school and in the evenings
  • A setting which is more comfortable to the needs and interests of teenagers
  • Resources and education programs directed at the parents of teenagers
  • A level of autonomy and confidentiality afforded the teenager in order to better prepare them to look after their own future medical needs.
  • Specially trained staff to recognize the problems and needs of adolescents
  • Preventative education is a back bone to every visit so as to diminish high risk behavior.
Our Staff

Robert A. Beekman MD
Dr. Beekman has served Downeast Maine as a pediatrician for over 20 years. He is well known for his commitment to the community and his special interest in seizure disorders, developmental and genetic disorders and the treatment of allergy and asthma in the pediatric population.  Dr. Beekman is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed both his internship and residency in pediatrics at New England Medical Center Hospital Tufts University.

Jonathon T. Fanburg, MD, MPH, FAAP
Dr. Fanburg is a pediatrician who has done extensive training in the healthcare needs of General pediatrics as well as a specialization in adolescents and young adults.  Dr. Fanburg also has a Masterıs of Public Health degree and has been on the teaching faculty at George Washington University.  He has authored many medical publications.  Dr. Fanburg received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School.  He preformed both his internship and residency at The Childrenıs Hospital in Denver, Colorado, most recently completing a 3 year fellowship in adolescent medicine at Childrenıs National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Sheena Whittaker, M.D.
Dr. Whittaker comes to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital from St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA.

Lori-Ann Knowles, RN, MS, CPNP
Lori-Ann Knowles is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a nursing diploma from St. Maryıs School of Nursing. Lori-Ann went on to obtain a Bachelorıs Degree at Husson College and a Masters in Pediatric Primary Care at Simmons College.  She has a special interest in pediatrics and adolescent healthcare and in-depth experience in newborn care. Most recently, Ms. Knowles completed training as a lactation consultant.
