Comments
- Diane began her life
as a middle child in a family of eleven children.
She has six living sisters, two living brothers,
fifteen nieces and nephews, one wonderful son, three
old dogs, a loving supportive partner, and many good
friends, all of whom she would have difficulty
living without. Diane has maintained a lifestyle
which bolsters her interest, respect, and enjoyment
of people.
Diane’s path to nurse-midwifery began with a diploma
in nursing from St. Joseph Hospital School of
Nursing, Bangor, in 1983, and a Bachelor of Science
of Human Services, 1993.
Both her professional and personal work guided Diane
to graduate work in nursing at the Frontier School
of Midwifery and Family Nursing, Community Based
Program in Hyden Kentucky and Case Western Reserve
University, Cleveland, Ohio. She became a Certified
Nurse Midwife in 1997 and has been practicing
full-scope midwifery in the Ellsworth community
since that time.
Diane is spirited by the opportunity to continue
working and learning with Renata Moise, CNM, Carole,
and the Downeast Community. She will also continue
to pursue her interests in the outdoors and yoga; as
well as both allopathic and alternative health care
models that support the fact that all women know
their bodies better than anyone.
