Maine Coast Memorial Hospital is receiving $106,636 from Maine Coast Healthcare Foundation to fund medical equipment and capital projects. Benefiting from these funds will be nine Hospital departments: Anesthesia; Cardiopulmonary; Emergency Department; Laboratory; Medical/Surgical Unit; Obstetrics; Post-Anesthesia Care Unit; and Rehabilitation. The majority of funds will be used for new patient monitors, ventilator equipment, an I-Stat machine for the Laboratory, and an exercise bike for rehabilitation patients.

In addition, the Mary Dow Center will receive a portion of this gift in memory of Trustee Richard D. Stanley who passed away on February 29, 2012. “Mr. Stanley was committed to the growth of the Hospital’s endowment fund, and his kind and gentle guidance served as inspiration for all our members,” stated Executive Director Jack Frost.

Maine Coast Healthcare Foundation’s priority is to secure charitable planned gifts to advance the Hospital’s endowment fund. Founded in 2003, the Foundation has provided over $420,000 to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. “We are very fortunate to have friends of the Hospital who, through their thoughtful planning, are insuring the future of our community Hospital,” remarked Jeffrey Jones, Foundation Board Chair.
