Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s new portable ventilator provides the latest technology available – providing comprehensive documentation which leads to better patient care. The ventilator, which breathes for the patient either through oral tubes or face mask, will primarily be used in the Emergency Center, Sleep Lab, and Intensive Care Unit.

MCMH’s Cardio Pulmonary Director Tina Reiff states, “This is our first portable ventilator, which can easily be used for those patients being transported. Hospital staff and our community partners in emergency care are excited to have this unit because it enables us to monitor multiple aspects of patient care simultaneously.”

Maine Coast Healthcare Foundation provided over $110,000 in grant support to MCMH in June 2012 for the purchase of several capital equipment items including this portable ventilator. RSS
